Jason Cook provides leadership and oversight as executive director of Langley Memorial Hospital and the City and Township of Langley.
Originally from Ontario, Jason has spent over 25 years working in B.C. health care with a passion for leadership. He has been with Fraser Health for over 20 years in progressive leadership positions. Jason’s career has afforded him experience in youth suicide prevention, marriage, family, grief and trauma counselling. Additionally, he has been a consultant with WorkSafe BC’s Critical Incident Stress Management Program. Jason’s clinical practice included work as an adult mental health therapist and a concurrent disorders therapist with managerial experience in Medicine, Acute Care for the elderly, Hospice, Emergency and Ambulatory services.
Jason has experience in leading community and tertiary level hospitals, including as the director of Site Operations at the Royal Columbian Hospital for five years. Recently, Jason has been the executive director for Langley Health Services and Langley Memorial Hospital since spring of 2015. He is also the executive director lead for Critical Care Services for Fraser Health.
Jason’s management experience has allowed him opportunities to help lead large capital redevelopment projects including the Christine Morrison Hospice, Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre and the Royal Columbian Hospital. He is currently the executive director for Langley Memorial Hospital’s ER redevelopment, MRI suite capital development and the Langley Hospice Residence build.
Jason holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Psychology and Theological studies in Counselling from Trinity Western University. He has 25 years as a registered clinical counsellor. In 2013, Jason achieved the designation of Certified Health Executive from the Canadian College of Health Leaders and has served as a mentor in their Executive Mentorship Program.
